Ultra Wideband (UWB) radio systems usually employ short pulses, typically of the order of sub-nanoseconds. The Ultra Wideband systems may possibly interfere with existing electronic systems since the short pulses occupy extremely wide spectar of frequencies. The FCC limits put on Ultra Wideband antenna design additional challenges compared to conventional narrow band antenna design. This paper gives a brief overview of the Ultra Wideband antenna design. The commercial simulation tool is used to show how antenna size and shape influence the Ultra Wideband antenna parameters.
